This bathroom remodel was far more than a simple cosmetic update; it was a major structural overhaul that turned a series of "big bummers" into a stunning success story. Originally, the floor plan was chopped into two cramped, dark spaces: one housing a shower and tub, and the other squeezed in a vanity, toilet, and bidet. The layout wasn't just outdated—it was failing. We discovered that a long-term leak in the toilet had compromised the structure, rendering the entire bathroom unusable and leaving the homeowners in a difficult position.
Our mission was to reclaim this space and give it a brand-new purpose. We began by demoing the dividing wall, instantly opening up the floor plan to create the spacious, bright white haven the homeowners had always dreamed of. By merging the two rooms, we were able to prioritize flow, light, and modern functionality. To maximize the sense of openness, we curated a timeless "White-on-White" palette. We utilized classic white subway tile for the expansive shower walls and paired it with a sophisticated hexagon pattern for the floor to add a touch of geometric interest. For a seamless, modern aesthetic, we installed a custom 74-inch wide glass shower door that allows the light to travel across the entire room. Knowing that an all-white bathroom can sometimes feel sterile, we brought in a beautiful, custom wood vanity. The natural grain of the wood adds necessary warmth, character, and significant value to the property. One of our favorite parts of this project was a design element that took on a life of its own. We designed a built-in shower bench for accessibility and comfort, but it quickly became the "surprise hit" of the remodel. The homeowner’s young kids have claimed it as their favorite spot for bath-time fun, proving that great design can be both sophisticated and family-friendly. What started as a leaky, unusable "forgotten" room has been reborn as a functional and fabulous retreat.
