Sprague Construction is a premier construction company specializing complete home renovations, and high-quality hardscape installations. We are a small, locally owned business that has proudly been serving Southern Vermont for 25 years. We continue to grow year after year, and we have multiple divisions. We do everything from major whole house remodels to small home repairs, and we specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodels. We have our own in-house trade professionals, project manager and interior designer, and we take pride in our unparalleled customer service.

Lead Carpenter

 Position Overview: We seek an experienced and highly skilled Lead Carpenter to oversee carpentry work, manage project workflow, and mentor a team of craftsmen. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to deliver outstanding results in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise carpentry crews, ensuring efficiency and quality workmanship. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. Execute advanced framing, finishing, cabinetry, and custom woodwork with precision. Plan and delegate tasks while maintaining timelines and budgets. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to junior carpenters. Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients. Troubleshoot and solve on-site challenges efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 7 years of carpentry experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Expertise in framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, and general woodworking. Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams. Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and carpentry equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of construction safety protocols and building codes. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Carpenter

 We are seeking a Carpenter to join our construction team. This role focuses on the high-quality execution of carpentry tasks and supporting onsite projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional who takes pride in their craft, works well with others, and is eager to contribute to a variety of residential and commercial builds.


Key Responsibilities: Perform framing, installation, and finishing tasks as directed by the Site Lead. Read and follow blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate layouts. Install windows, doors, molding, and cabinetry with a high level of detail. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools are handled properly. Assist in the assembly and teardown of scaffolding or temporary structures. Follow all safety protocols and company standards to ensure a secure work environment. Collaborate with the crew to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.


Qualifications & Skills Experience: 2–4 years of professional carpentry experience. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of basic framing and finish carpentry. Tool Proficiency: Competent in using circular saws, miter saws, drills, and pneumatic nailers.  Reliability: Strong work ethic and the ability to take direction effectively. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions. Communication: Clear communication skills for working within a small team.

Social Media Storyteller

  Our growing Southern Vermont construction team is looking for a Part-Time Social Media Assistant who’s as comfortable on a job site as they are on an editing app. You’ll be our "boots on the ground," visiting active sites daily to document our craftsmanship and capture that perfect "final reveal" shot.

You will act as our primary photographer and videographer, identifying content opportunities on the fly without needing a script. You'll turn raw footage into high-energy Reels while writing captions that are as solid as our builds. Beyond the creative, you'll partner with our Social Media Manager to brainstorm new campaigns and track what our audience loves through basic monthly reporting. We are looking for someone with an expert eye for photography and mobile editing. You must own a modern, professional-grade smartphone and your own portable lighting. A valid driver’s license is required for daily site visits, along with excellent communication skills and a knack for digital storytelling. While not required, a background in construction or interior design is a huge plus!
